Bald Eagles, Haliaeetus leucocephalus, have made a comeback in the Delaware River Watershed with many nesting along the River and adjacent areas. There is also a concentration of Bald Eagles in the winter along the Upper Delaware. This winter eagle is perched alongside the Lackawaxen River, a stream perhaps best known for its whitewater canoeing.
